Joseph, the rejected Savior.

Hey Gathering Place Family!

This Saturday night we continue ONE STORY, and Week 4 takes us into one of the most incredible stories in the Old Testament:

JOSEPH: THE REJECTED SAVIOR

Most of us know at least part of Joseph’s story—the coat, the dreams, the jealous brothers, the pit, the prison and eventually the palace.

But what if Joseph’s story is about something much bigger than Joseph?

Throughout this series, we’ve been discovering that the Bible isn’t a collection of disconnected stories. It is ONE STORY—God’s story of redemption—and it all points to Jesus.

And Joseph may be one of the clearest pictures yet.

He was the beloved son of his father.

He was rejected by his own.

He was stripped.

He was sold for silver.

He was falsely accused.

He suffered despite being innocent.

Then God raised him up and gave him authority—and the rejected son became the one who saved the very people who had rejected him.

Sound familiar?

There’s also something in Joseph’s story for anyone who has ever wondered:

“God, where are You in all of this?”

Joseph experienced betrayal, disappointment, injustice and years of waiting. There were moments when his circumstances made absolutely no sense.

But God was working even when Joseph couldn’t see it.

The pit wasn’t the end. The prison wasn’t the end. And the middle of your story isn’t necessarily the end either.

This week we're going to talk about rejection, forgiveness, God’s sovereignty, redemption and how Joseph’s life points us directly toward Jesus Christ and the Gospel.

And here's your challenge this week:

Bring somebody with you.

Think about the person who has been hurt. The person who feels rejected. The person going through a season that doesn't make sense. Or maybe simply someone who has questions about Jesus and the Bible.

Invite them.

There’s always room for one more at Gathering Place.

We love you guys, and we can't wait to worship with you Saturday night!

What if one weekend could help you see your purpose more clearly?

On September 11th & 12th, Gathering Place is hosting Chazown—a free experience designed to help you discover the unique vision and purpose God has placed within you.

Chazown helps you begin connecting the dots between your gifts, passions, experiences, personality, and values to answer a much bigger question:

“God, what did You create me to do?”

And we want to make something VERY clear:

THIS IS FOR ANYONE AND EVERYONE.

You do not have to attend Gathering Place to participate.

You may attend another church. You may be new to faith. You may have followed Jesus for decades. You may serve in ministry—or have absolutely no idea where you fit.

You are welcome.

We believe in the Capital “C” Church. Our goal isn't simply to help people find their place at Gathering Place. We want to equip people to discover their God-given purpose so they can make an impact at home, at work, in their community, in their church, and everywhere God has placed them.

So here's our challenge to our Gathering Place family:

DON'T COME ALONE.

Think about someone in your life who may be asking:

Is there more than this?

Does God really have a purpose for me?

Where do I fit?

How can God use my story?

Invite them.

Chazown begins Friday evening, September 11th, and continues through most of the day Saturday, September 12th.

There is no cost to attend. We simply ask everyone to RSVP so we can prepare.

Your life isn't an accident.

Your experiences aren't wasted.

Your gifts weren't given to you randomly.

God created you on purpose, for a purpose.

Now let's discover it.
