Like snakes??
Subject: This Saturday: Look and Live | ONE STORY Week 7
Hi Gathering Place Family,
This Saturday, we continue our ONE STORY journey with Week 7: The Bronze Serpent — Look and Live.
At first glance, Numbers 21 is one of those passages that can leave you wondering, “What in the world is happening here?” Israel is in the wilderness, the people rebel against God, serpents enter the camp, and then God tells Moses to lift a bronze serpent on a pole. Anyone who looked at it lived.
It seems strange—until Jesus explains it.
In John 3, Jesus points directly back to this story and says:
“As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up…” — John 3:14
Suddenly, an ancient story in the wilderness points directly to the cross.
This week we’re going to talk about a difficult truth: sin always brings death. But that isn’t where the story ends. God provides a way to life.
And church family, this is a great week to invite someone.
Think about the person in your life who may be struggling, searching, questioning God, carrying guilt, or simply needing hope. You don’t have to preach them a sermon. You don’t need the perfect words.
Just say, “Would you come to church with me Saturday?”
Sometimes one invitation can open a door we never expected.
