What an Incredible Month… and What's Next at Gathering Place!

Hi Gathering Place family,
Wow! What an amazing four weeks of At The Movies!
What began as an outreach series became so much more. Together we laughed, reflected, worshipped, and most importantly, encountered Jesus.
Over the past month we discovered:
🍫 Wonka reminded us not to let the world rewrite who God created us to be.
⚔️ A Knight's Tale showed us that our true identity is found in Christ—not in our past, our mistakes, or the labels others place on us.
✈️ Top Gun: Maverick challenged us to step into God's purpose and calling with courage, trusting that He prepares us before He positions us.
✝️ Jesus Revolution reminded us that one genuine encounter with Jesus changes everything.
And the fruit has been incredible!
Four people gave their lives to Christ.
Five people publicly declared their faith through baptism.
Let's go! 🙌
What an incredible reminder that God is building His Church, changing lives, and writing stories of redemption right here in Inverness.
But we're not stopping there.
This Saturday we begin something we've been praying about for a long time...
ONE STORY
For the next twelve weeks, we're going on an unforgettable journey through the Bible.
Whether you've followed Jesus for years or you're still asking questions about faith, this series is designed to help you see the Bible like never before.
Together we'll discover how sixty-six books...
Written over fifteen hundred years...
By more than forty different authors...
Across three continents...
In three different languages...
Tell one incredible story.
A story of God's relentless love.
A story of redemption.
A story that points to one Savior—Jesus Christ.
We'll explore the promises of Abraham, the life of Joseph, the Passover, the Tabernacle, Jonah, the prophets, the New Covenant, Revelation, and so much more—seeing how every part of Scripture connects into one breathtaking masterpiece.
This Week: Can We Trust the Bible?
We'll begin by answering one of the biggest questions people ask:
Can the Bible really be trusted?
We'll look at manuscript evidence, archaeology, fulfilled prophecy, and the remarkable unity of Scripture. By the end of the evening, you'll leave with greater confidence that the Bible isn't just an ancient book—it's God's living Word, preserved through history and still changing lives today.
This is a series you'll want to attend every week.
It's also the perfect opportunity to invite someone who's curious about faith or has questions about Christianity. Many people wonder if the Bible is reliable. This series will give thoughtful, encouraging answers while pointing people to Jesus.
As always, there'll be great coffee, genuine community, and a warm welcome waiting for you.

Gathering Groups Kick Off!!
Gathering Place Groups are launching during this series! These "Talk It Over" groups are designed to help people build meaningful relationships and grow deeper in their faith together. If you feel called to lead a group, we'd love to connect with you. Let us know as soon as possible, and we'll get all the information and resources into your hands to help you get started.
Pray for Inverness & Highlands
Every third Saturday of each month we present this event that is open to anyone who wants to participate. This is your opportunity to join other Christians from other churches, united, for one cause...to hold up Inverness & Highlands in prayer. We pray for our government (national and local), all church leaders, the lost, the hurting, and more. It begins at 10:00AM and usually ends around 10:45AM (ish). This is your opportunity to be a participant and not a bystander in the battle that wages for the Highlands. Let's go!
Revival Night & Healing
Join us on Sunday, 23 August at 6:00 PM for our very first Revival Night—an evening set aside to seek God's presence together through passionate worship, heartfelt prayer, and faith for personal revival and healing.
This is an open event for anyone and everyone. Whether you regularly attend church, haven't been in years, or have never stepped inside one before, you are warmly invited. Bring your family, invite a friend, and come expecting God to move.
Come expecting powerful worship, intentional prayer, and an atmosphere where lives can be transformed.
Everyone is welcome. There is a place for you. We can't wait to see you there.

Coming in September
Registration will be opening in a few weeks for Chazown. Chazown is a Hebrew word meaning "vision," "dream," or "revelation", popularized as a faith-based life-mapping concept by pastor Craig Groeschel. It refers to discovering God's specific purpose for your life by evaluating three core areas: your core values, your spiritual gifts, and your past experiences. This is a 100% free event open to everyone. Tentative dates are Sept. 11th & 12th.
